Shock decision with likely implications for The Miners.....

Shock news from the NCEL in the last 24 hours as it has been confirmed that fellow Premier Division club Clipstone have resigned from the League with immediate effect.

The reasons for the club's decision remain unclear as well as, at least officially, the implications for other clubs until the issue is discussed at the next League board meeting. Precedent would suggest however that their record this season will be expunged. This would mean Garforth's 2-1 victory over the Cobras on Cedar Ridge on 20th August would be chalked off, and the goals by Luke Kitson and Mitch Hamilton no longer exist (other than on the match highlights on our Facebook page).

The Miners were also due to travel to the Worksop Van Hire Stadium a week on Saturday (21st January), a game which we assume will be cancelled.

I'm sure others at the club will join me in recognising the difficulties of running a club at this level and hope the Nottinghamshire side can find a solution to their problems.
