Goals from Elliott Cuttle, Nathan Owen and Raul Fletcher weren't enough to avoid defeat in Garforth development side's first pre-season outing, but given the difference in leagues and the 6-0 defeat suffered in the last meeting, the Young Miners can be proud of their efforts. Harold Monkam was man of the match in last night's game, played on the recently-installed 3G surface at the WRCFA HQ in Woodlesford.
Despite the defeat, manager Nick Fletcher was delighted with his team's performances, saying "Well done to the lads involved.....we played some great football, better than them in my opinion, and on another day would have won the match. It was a splendid performance against a side operating four divisions above us and our team included three 15 year olds! Things are looking good".
