Poor warm up sells the Garforth u21s short...

6.45pm A foggy evening here down at the Tadcaster Albion Stadium. It is a 7.30 pm kick off and most of the Garforth players and staff have not arrived yet - apparently a crash on the M 62 has delayed them.
7.15 pm and the Garforth players trudge out in dribs and drabs to prepare for a truncated warm up. The opposition have been out for at least 30 minutes and are looking sharp in theirs - this doesn't look good for the Garforth boys!
7.30pm and Tadcaster Albion kick off the game
7.35pm - I'm right - Tadcaster have had us penned in our own third from the kick off - our full backs are under constant pressure - we look way off the pace!
7.36pm GOAL - 1-0 to them. Garforth full back Stevenson is too wide - the channel is wide open, the M 62 rescue crew could get their vehicles through it, and Tadcaster spring the offside trap with a through ball that their player finishes by rounding the keeper - nice finish.
7.41pm - We're all over the place - will the real Garforth Town 11 stand up please? - free kick leads to treble chance for them - brave keeping by Williams keeps the score at 1-0
7.45pm - Its a blitz - we were all over the place - but its worse than that now - I can't see us holding out much longer
7.48pm - I'm right - GOAL - 2-0 to them - Etherington loses his man at the corner - a bit of a scruffy finish by their striker but they all count - this is going to be double figures if Garforth don't get a grip
7.50pm - Garforth substitution - full back Stevenson suffers a hamstring strain and is replaced by Bradley - it looks as though they are switching play maker Fletcher to full back, Garforth's own Phillip Lahm perhaps?, or is it a case of desperate measures for desperate times?
8pm - Garforth have steadied the ship - there is little to choose between the sides now
8.07pm GOAL - 2-1 - A GAME CHANGER? Fletcher finds Wealthall with a 30 yard daisy cutter. Wealthall cuts inside his marker and curls the ball into the top far corner. A belter!
8.10pm - Near post volley by Bradley cleared off the line by Tadcaster -
they know they are in a game now!!8.15pm half time -2-1 to Tadcaster
8.30pm Garforth Town kick off the second half
8.45pm - still little to choose between the teams - Garforth are sitting deep - Tadcaster are switching, playing back, probing but are struggling to find a way through
8.46pm - tremendous recovery tackle by Bradley stops Tadcaster taking 3-1 lead - both sides are playing with caution presumably aware that the next goal is crucial
8.49pm - PENALTY - Tadcaster player is brought down by keeper Williams - several Garforth players are begging the question of the liner - where was the flag for the player 5 yards offside before he was clattered for the penalty ?- the penalty taker just manages to tuck the ball under Garforth keeper William's body - 3-1 - this is a tight game so it looks like game over now I'm afraid
9.15pm Final whistle - Good game - well played both sides but did a poor warm up waste a wonderful goal for Town?
