Convincing win for the u21s at Goole United...

Another night of positives for the Garforth Town development team as they convincingly beat bottom of the table Goole United and kept a clean sheet for the first time in a league match this season. In addition 5 first teamers, Larsen, Akinwale, Turner, Donaldson and Allsop were given valuable game time and 3 x 16 year olds, O'Regan, Pickard and Booth, were handed their debuts. The 3 points gained continued the u21s good run of form and they have now earned 10 points from the last 6 matches. Garforth pretty much dominated play from the start to the finish of the match and even after 10 minutes the salient question was always going to be 'not who would win the match but by how many goals would Garforth win it by?'
The youngsters created a good number of high quality chances and could easily have scored a double digit figure number of goals with a little more care with the finishing.
Goal Number 1 - was scored on 13 minutes when right back Fletcher and right mid Bradley, looking as though they were advertising a Garforth Town January sales offer of 2 'one twos' for the price of 1 traded four passes between them allowing Bradley the space to deliver into the box for Donladson to finish the move.
Goal Number 2 - arrived just 2 minutes later on 15 minutes when goalkeeper Booth caught a Goole free kick and quickly dispatched it to Bradley. The latter played striker Turner in behind which allowed Turner to show off his goal scoring pedigree as he calmly rounded the keeper for a good finish.
Goal Number 3 - came on 21 minutes and is surely another Garforth Town u21s team goal of the season contender. Turner had little space to operate in out on the left but did well to dig out a whipped ball towards the far post. Bradley got across his marker and hit the ball with precision on the half volley.
Goal Number 4 - was put away on 31 minutes when Akinwale did well in delivering an excellent though ball to Donaldson to give him chance to show off his striking pedigree and he duly obliged slipping the ball under the advancing keeper.
Goal Number 5 - fell to Turner when stand in captain Fletcher played a penetrating one touch pass in behind the opposition's centre halves and into Turner's running line
Goal Number 6 - was scored by substitute Lightowler with a cute header from a Reynold's cross.
All in all another good day at the office for the youngsters who on this form will surely be relishing the opportunity to have another crack at Evo Stik outfit and local rivals Tadcaster Albion down at Cedar Ridge next Wednesday.
