The 2016-17 season was celebrated at York City's West Yorkshire Development Centre Presentation Evening at the Holiday Inn, Garforth on Saturday 3rd June.

Congratulations go to Raul Fletcher (pictured above) who picked up the Club Player of the Year award. Also to Matt Devlin, who won the Player's Player of the Year award, whilst Elliott Cuttle won Young Player of the Year. 17-year old Elliott's performances have come to the attention of the West Riding County FA, and he's been selected for their County 18 side for next season.

Four other players have also received a boost to their young careers. There was excellent news for Defender "Big" Sam Ola (pictured left) and Seth Hartley, who've accepted a football scholarship at the prestigious Queen Ethelburga's School. Midfielders Niall O'Regan and Joe Colley have accepted a place with FC Halifax Town's Youth Team for next season, playing under former Garforth manager Steve Nichol.

Congratulations to all of those above and best wishes to those leaving for pastures new.

The club is pleased to confirm we'll be running an U21 side again next year in partnership with the York City WYDC. Manager Nick Fletcher will aim to build on last season's sixth place finish and to match (or better!) our exciting run in the FA Youth Cup which saw the Young Miners play under the bright lights of Bootham Crescent last October.
