Miners undone late on as two late goals from the hosts condemned us to defeat despite Hussain giving us an early lead.

Manager Paul Marshall made two changes to the side which faced Penistone on Saturday - Harry Viggars replacing Sam Denton at the back and Tabish Hussain replacing Matt Antcliff who was one of a number of players for both sides forced off in that game through injury.

Watched by a reported crowd of 151 which to the naked eye looked barely half that, was a tense game of few chances where Albion enjoyed most of the possession with Garforth playing on the counter. In contrast to the early goal conceded in our last four games, on this occasion Town managed to score one ourselves. On 4 mins Jordan Emery beat the offside trap and held the ball up well before supplying Tabish Hussain to his left who fired into the bottom corner of the net.

A first chance of the game soon fell to The Lions when Robbie Fox lashed against the side netting after an attack down the right flank. After putting Town ahead, bad luck was to befall Hussain who was injured in a challenge on ten mins, and despite persevering, had to be replaced by Jason Davis nine minutes before the break. An Albion delivery into the six-yard box had to be cleared over the crossbar by Viggars on 44 mins and as first half action goes that was pretty much that.

A lung-busting run forward by Nash Connolly's almost led to us doubling our lead on 50 mins; Emery inches away from connecting with his low cross at the back post. A bad challenge on Sam Barker five minutes later could well have seen The Lions reduced to ten men, but the referee instead opted for a caution. There followed some more good Garforth chances which couldn't be converted. From Davis' wind-assisted free-kick following the foul on Barker, Viggars struck narrowly over the bar at a narrow angle, then Emery found the net when meeting Barkway's ball in but was ruled offside. Davis then saw a shot claimed at the near post by home keeper George McMahon after a foray in from the left.

Down the other end Harry Flatters was almost left red-faced when rushing out of his goal and spilling a cross into the six-yard box, but luckily Viggars was alert to clear the danger.

With fifteen minutes left, Town had yet to make the points safe, and were made to pay when a huge slice of good fortune gifted Albion their equaliser. A cross from the right took a big deflection off Jamie Barkway and beat the stricken Flatters.

On 84 mins Davis' dipping free-kick almost caught out McMahon who was forced to palm away from goal. The ball was played to sub Lee Turner who couldn't find his way through a crowded box and another chance was gone.

A draw would've been about fair, but the hosts, yet to be beaten in the league this season, pounced in injury time to claim all three points. A corner kick wasn't dealt with and Flatters looked to have been fouled, but with nothing given, the ball found Ellis Wade who poked home at the far post. Pretty much from the restart it was 3-1 when The Miners lost possession and the ball was played to Robbie Fox who found the far corner of the net with a low shot despite a defender's best efforts to keep it out.

After heroics against Campion and a good display in vain at Penistone, it's a case of one-step forward, one step back for Paul Marshall's side in a division where pretty much any team looks capable of beating another at the minute. Having played only three home league games so far (as opposed to six away), we redress the balance somewhat with two home games this coming week, starting with Barton Town on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
