Garforth ended Rossingtons three month unbeaten run with a superb all round performance at the Welfare ground.
New signing Sam Cable took a place on the bench, Alex Zachariou took the right back berth in place of suspended Rinor Ejupi.
Garforth started with a high tempo game, not giving Rossington time to settle.
Charlie Marshall was in the thick of the early action and first threatened when he connected with a Matt Antcliff low cross, but saw his first time effort fly agonisingly wide. Soon after, he had a free kick parried away by the home keeper.
Marshall then had a goal-bound shot blocked by an outstretched leg.
Jordan Emery made the breakthrough on twenty nine minutes when Jamie Barkway rose at the back post to head a corner kick into his path. Emery latched onto the knock-down and swept the ball home.
It was a relentless first half performance by the Miners, with Jay Davis and Matt Antcliff having efforts blocked, but Mains' defence would be breached again before the break.
When Jordan Emery slid in to tackle Paul Sherburn midway inside Garforths' half, there seemed to be little for the home defence to worry about, but Antcliff picked up the ball and raced half the length of the pitch leaving defenders in his wake, before calmly rounding the keeper and slotting Town into a two goal lead on the stroke of half time.
Rossington made changes at half time, but Garforth still looked like they would increase their lead again.
Marshall again looked most likely. Dexter Ball played him in on goal, but he was narrowly offside. The same combination worked again, but this time Marshall rattled a left foot shot off the foot of the post.
From this incident, Rossington broke forward, were halted by a foul twenty five yards from the Garforth goal.
Captain Graig Young rose to flick the ball towards goal. Flatters got hands to the ball, but couldn't claim it, giving substitute and debutant Joe Parkin a chance to open his account for Main, which he took.
Garforth thought they'd re-taken the lead when Jay Davis unleashed a shot that nestled in the bottom corner of the goal, but an offside player took a slight touch and the strike was ruled out.
Manasse Kianga had a golden opportunity to bring his side level when he was awarded a penalty. Harry Viggars was booked for the challenge (although he was looking to clear the ball, his raised foot impeded the Rossington forward in the box).
Harry Flatters put behind any disappointment from his earlier concession and made himself hero of the night as he guessed right and saved the spot kick.
This wasn't the end of the drama though, as another keeper looked to steal Flatters thunder.
With time running out for the home side, stopper Jim Pollard raced forward for a free kick, managing to take a swing at the loose ball, with only a defenders boot preventing him from breaking Miners hearts.
There was time for one last corner kick, but Garforth again got a body in the way, before the ref called a halt to proceedings.
This was a big test passed for Garforth, but also gave them back to back wins for the first time since early November.
The result took Paul Marshalls side above Rossington into fourth place.
Next Garforth head to Silsden, who still have an outside chance of reaching the play-off places themselves.
