How many Garforth fans can we take?

Fear not, you haven't woken up to find yourself in a maths class of your childhood (or a few weeks ago for any school-age readers).

Our next away game comes next Tuesday, on 22nd August at Liversedge. In a repeat of a home game against Bridlington Town last October, our hosts are widely publicising the match in an effort to get a record attendance of 1000 people through the gate. Sadly last year they fell short at 605, but still recorded the second highest NCEL Premier Division attendance of the season.

In view of the difficulties of a running a club at this level, an attendance of 1000 and the revenue it would bring can only be encouraged, and it's sure to be a fantastic occasion for all involved including both sets of players.

The date is an interesting one from a Garforth perspective as it falls on the tenth anniversary of our visit to Bury FC's Gigg Lane to play FC United of Manchester. In front of a crowd of 2216, Garforth were 1-0 winners, making it a memorable evening for all involved at the club. On the night the away support was very much appreciated by the Town players and will surely be again next week.

So let's get as many Garforth supporters in the crowd as we can. Liversedge is 22 miles from the Supply Chain Network Stadium and takes around 40 mins along the M62. If you haven't watched The Miners away before, then Liversedge is a great place to start, situated in a picturesque setting in the Spen Valley and entirely run by volunteers (read more here). If you have, then bring a friend!

Admission is £5 adults and £2.50 concessions, with under 12s FREE with a paying adult. Address details can be found here.

Up the Miners!
