Liam Ormsby signs!

Garforth legend returns......and another new signing.

Former Scarborough Athletic and Tadcaster Albion midfielder Liam Ormsby has signed for Garforth. His return is a major coup for the club as Liam is understood to have turned down offers from clubs in the Evo-Stik League. After suffering a serious injury at the beginning of last season, he spent time as assistant manager at neighbours Harrogate Railway, but will be looking forward to taking the field again (and what better place to start?).

Seasoned Town supporters will remember Liam as a key part of our 2009-10 County Cup winning squad, scoring twice in the final against Barnoldswick Town. He is of course son of ex-Leeds United, Aston Villa and Garforth legend Brendan, who made over 100 appearances for the Miners back in the 1990s.

Following on from the article a couple of weeks ago about players making the step up from local football, another to do so is versatile midfielder Matt Robertshaw (no relation to Kris!). Matt has previously played for West Yorkshire League side Garforth Rangers and has featured in pre-season friendlies.

A warm welcome to both players!
