The Miners were in League Cup action on this day in 2015. Having defeated Heanor Town and Selby Town to reach the fourth round, Graham Nicholas' team sadly bowed out at Division 1 Hallam FC at a freezing cold Sandygate. A first half goal enough to see the Sheffield side through to the Quarter Finals.

More memorable was a visit to Lancaster City in 2012. Town trailed 1-0 at the break, but a goal from Lawrance Hunter and one deep in stoppage time from defender Rob Pacey gave us the points. The win was part of a twelve game unbeaten run for Steve Nichol's team to see us into an Evo-Stik North Division play-off spot.

Garforth were in the Semi-Finals of the West Riding County Cup on this day in 2009. Having defeated Ossett Town in the previous round, we went on to face neighbours Albion on Cedar Ridge (given recent news a sequence not to be repeated!). Goals from Bret Renshaw and Andy Hayward (2) inspired a 3-1 win to see Simon Clifford's men into the final.

Sticking with the Clifford era, The Miners drew 0-0 at Selby Town on this day in 2007, part of an eleven-game unbeaten run which was to secure a fourth place finish for his team, and as it turned out, Evo-Stik League football!

In an infamous game most remember for a large scuffle in the first half which ended in a player for each side being sent off, Town drew 1-1 at Glasshoughton on this day in 2001. Andy Sharp earned Dave Harrison's side a point.

A goal from Vinny Archer was enough to secure victory at Frecheville CA on this day in 1990, whilst in 1984 Garforth Miners lost 3-1 at Rowntree Mackintosh in a League Cup third round replay. Peter Taylor with our consolation.
