Garforth made a few changes from the Chorley match - Lee Kelsey returned in goal and Walker, Howarth and Marron made way for Priestley, Collins and Normaschild... all strong replacements.
The typical small crowd (56) for this cup were rewarded with a typical night of entertainment, the show stolen by a David Brown hat-trick.
Garforth almost took the lead after twenty minutes through Brown after Ossett goalkeeper Luke Herriott could only palm Chris Fishers' drive into the path of the diminutive striker. His finish was ruled offside though.
Four minutes later Ossett scored through a Richard Tracey strike. Lee Kelsey managed to get something on it, but the ball agonisingly still found its' way in.
Garforth came close to going in level, but Kyle Collins and then Ben Small were denied by Herriotts bravery.
There was no air of panic, as it was only a matter of time before Town would score. Two minutes into the second half in fact, after Herriott spilled a Tom Marron shot into the path of the obliging Brown. The Garforth number ten got his second ten minutes later in identical fashion when Herriott did well to keep out Adam Priestley.
The hat-trick was completed on seventy minutes. Brown, one-on-one with Herriott, coolly finished.
Chris Brown Scored two minutes later for Ossett, finishing off a driving run with a twenty yarder.
In the final minutes, Ossett hit the post and Town were denied twice, before Chris Howarth almost put the cherry on the icing with a spectacular effort that beat the flailing keeper and smashed against the crossbar.
A hat-trick and matchball for Brown and a step closer to a hat-trick of County Cup titles for Garforth.
