Tomorrow's match against our Division 1 neighbours gives Rob Hunter a final chance to run the rule over his new-look squad before the serious stuff starts at Bridlington this (yes, this!) Saturday.

After steadying the ship last season following a couple of tough years, promotion is the aim for Simon Houghton and Jason Dodsworth's team in 2018-19. They've had a mixed bag of results in pre-season, highlights being a draw with Evo-Stik League side Stocksbridge and a 4-0 win over our NCEL Premier stable-mates Hemsworth.

This venue has never been a happy hunting ground for The Miners, who are yet to record a victory against the hosts. Honours were even in the last meeting back on 5th February 2016 in a league match which finished goalless. Can we end that sequence and finish pre-season on a high?
