After our best opening day result for 23 years, attention turns to the FA Cup as we hit the A1 for a visit to Shildon in this Extra Preliminary Round tie. Its fair to say a Garforth win is well overdue against The Railwaymen, who've prevailed in all four previous meetings, three of them in this competition. The tie, as is often the case against Northern League opponents, promises to be a real test for Rob Hunter's side. Daniel Moore's team have won both of the first two league games, scoring thirteen in the process, unsurprisingly making themselves the early pace-setters in Division 1.

After a few barren years, Town made the First Qualifying Round last season; memorable wins at Northallerton and Bridlington earning us a meeting with Bet Victor Northern League Premier side South Shields in front of a 1148-strong crowd. Can it be done once more? Prize money of £2, 250 and a home tie against Bet Victor North West Division side Colne FC is our reward should we return to Yorkshire with a win.
